If you need new dancewear and shoes it is easier to come in during the summer when it is not crowded and hectic! It is difficult to size and register students during class times. You may call(732-286-2022) or email (onceuponadance@gmail.com) to make an appointment if you cannot come in when we are at the studio. All returning students need to fill out new registration forms. INTRODUCING TAP!
TINY TAPPERS- AGE 4
Children will have fun learning basic tap steps emphasizing basic motor control and rhythmic concepts.Basic techniques are introduced and refined as the students learn coordination and body awareness. For those dancers taking tap or jazz in addition to creative movement, the programs serve to complement each other and reinforce skills learned in each class.
JUNIOR TAPPERS AGE 5-7
This level introduces the Students to fundamental tap techniques arranged in combinations and performed as solo or duets. The Students take an active part in creating of the combinations. They will learn how to perform with energy and how to bring their own personality in each and every performance. The main goals in Tap I beginners level are identifying, utilizing, and demonstrating tap terminology.The program will benefit ballet and jazz Students by improving the speed and articulation of their footwork.
INTERMEDIATE TAPPERS AGES 11+
The Students at this level will continue to improve the quality of the rhythm. They will demonstrate ability to dance with equal emphasis on the musicality, level appropriate tap technique, posture, and sounds. Consistency of always being on Releve is expected at this level. The Tap Intermediate Students are expected to learn new combinations quickly and be able to execute sounds following verbal instruction only. This will require a very good level of understanding of the genre of tap dancing.The program will benefit ballet and jazz Students by improving the speed and articulation of their footwork.
NEW JAZZ/HIPHOP FUSION
JAZZ/HIPHOP FUSION AGES 10-12
This is a class that incorporates all genres of jazz, infusing hip hop into the mix. It incorporates many styles of Jazz technique including : Broadway, contemporyty, jazz funk& lyrical. We will be breaking,popping and locking! This program builds upon the movements and technique that students have already learned.
JAZZ/HIPHOP FUSION TEEN/ADULT
Students will learn different jazz & hiphop techniques. We will use the latest sounds in R&B, alternative rock, acoustic and pop music to learn classical jazz, Broadway, contemporary, jazz funk and much more! Something new every week!
NEW!“JUNIOR JAZZ” AGES 5-7
"Junior Jazz" is an introductory, high-energy jazz class for children ages 5-7.Jazz curriculum is a perfect compliment to our ballet program. The Jazz curriculum is based on the classical jazz dance technique, with influences incorporated from modern jazz, hip-hop, street jazz and Broadway styles. The Jazz curriculum develops flexibility, rhythm, extension, balance, speed and strong movement in dancers, preparing them for a lifetime of dancing.
